A Prescription Drug Drop-Off Box is installed in the Sheriff’s Office Lobby located at 1300 SW 14th St. Bentonville, AR 72712.
The box will be located just inside the main entrance of the jail lobby.
The service is free to the public and allows citizens to rid their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted
prescription drugs.
Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are alarmingly high. According to the 2009 National Survey on
Drug Use and Health, more Americans currently abuse prescription drugs than the number of those using cocaine, hallucinogens, and
heroin combined. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from
the home medicine cabinet.
Sheriff Ferguson is dedicated to helping the citizens of Benton County by providing a way to properly dispose of these prescription
drugs. Citizens may drop off their prescription drugs from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. each day of the week.
